Light For Ukraine #20

,

We are reflecting on our keeping of Christmas, and looking forward to Candlemass (the feast of the Presentation on 2 February), two festivals when we have a procession with candles. Most of us struggle to see the print in our Vespers books in dim or flickering light, so we turn to electricity. The website of the Diocese in Europe pointed out that the congregation at Christ Church Kyiv can’t rely on there being mains electricity for their worship, or for their day-to-day activities. We continue to pray eachWednesday at around 18.00 for an end to this war, and for other conflicts.

Jesus
despite the thickening darkness,
Christians throughout the world still celebrate
the light of your incarnation
Thank you that even wars and persecutions,

shortages and insecurities,
sicknesses and injuries, fear and death,
nothing can separate us from your love. Amen
